Portugal - In 2022, how to pay taxes in instalments in Portugal? We explain!
 
Considering the international public health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Portuguese Government has approved several exceptional measures to ease compliance of tax obligations, regarding both declarative and payment obligations, as well as to support families and businesses to mitigate the effects of the pandemic: · Payment of taxes in instalments during the pre-executive and executive phases; · Exceptional regimes for taxes payment in instalments; · The new regime of taxes payment in instalments, before the commencement of tax execution proceedings (Personal Income Tax - IRS, Corporate Tax - IRC, Value Added Tax - IVA, Property Transfer Tax - IMT, Single Tax on Vehicle - IUC); · The amendment to the Portuguese Administrative and Judicial Procedure Tax Code, which establishes the new officious plan for payment in instalments.

Law 93/2021 has established the General Whistleblower Protection Regime in Portugal. This new law requires several companies to implement an internal whistleblowing channel within their organizations by June 18, 2022.

On December 30, 2021, the Decree-Law No. 126/2021 was approved, establishing the temporary legal regime applicable to the performance of notarial deeds, terms of authentication and recognitions, by videoconference. This new law will enter into force on April 4, 2022
